as the sun goes down the light inside my life is growing dim and the world outside is tempting me along my basest whims I wish that I knew how to break it down and start over again in a thousand years they’ll dig up our embarrassed skeletons I study the way that everyone copes is it heartache pushing us along this tightrope? if I stumble lose my balance and then I fall there is no one there to catch us no one at all we’re alone just you n me on the city street I look into the eyes of passersby and on their own two feet they swear that they are not that bad of guy but put a gun in their hand they’ll point it at whoever has to die because they understand that’s what you gotta do to get by I study the way that everyone copes is it heartache pushing us along this tightrope? if I stumble lose my balance and then I fall there is no one there to catch us no one at all we’re alone we’re alone just you n me

I was in blue robes sleeping in my boat all alone I spend my nights reading my tomes by candlelight as invaders slip by I become a swan when I cry and everytime I think of you they ripple through the nights that we had never needed that magic so bad and it’s hard out here without an answer I tried to find out what I did to hurt you so bad was it something I did or something I said I did? wizard lost a friend I think of you the night you made us stare at the moon while bending the snowy fields of brittle starlight you were my best friend I can’t believe I never told you that then before I became the bat that flew from the furnace I wonder now what the bards will sing of the sundered pair I found your book at the show in Chicago I tried to find out what I did to hurt you so bad was it something I did or something I said I did? ithryn luin

about

I wrote these songs last year for Favored Channels' "Portal Fishing" exhibit in Austin, TX. The a-side samples and lifts a vocal melody from "After the Lights Go Out" by The Walker Brothers. The remix is by my younger brother.
